Programs and cohorts
A program is a higher-level offering made up of cohorts (sections) rather than individual video chapters. Programs are ideal for multi-part, instructor-led learning where each cohort is a stage, module, or intake with its own brief, materials, and activities.

Cohorts #
Each cohort is a section of the program. A cohort has a name, a rich description, attached documents, and (new) attached resources. Learners see all of a program's cohorts in an accordion, expanding each one to read its description and open its materials.
- In the program builder, use Add program section to create a cohort.
- Give it a name and description, and add documents (pdf, text, or images up to 5 MB each).
- Attach resources — quizzes, code, assignments, polls, or videos (see below).
- Repeat for each stage of your program.
Reordering cohorts #
The order of cohorts is the order learners see. Use the up and down arrows on each cohort's header in the builder to move it. The first cohort has no "up" arrow and the last has no "down" arrow. Changes save immediately and the order is reflected for learners.
Reordering only moves the cohort — its description, documents, and resources move with it.
Attaching resources to a cohort #
Alongside documents, you can attach any of your published resources to a cohort — a quiz, coding exercise, assignment, poll, or embedded video. Use the Attach a resource action on the cohort, search or filter the picker, and click Attach. Attached resources appear in the cohort, and you can remove any of them at any time.
The picker shows resources you've published for this program. When creating a quiz, exercise, assignment, poll, or video, choose the program as its course so it becomes available to attach to the program's cohorts. All cohorts in a program share the same pool of published resources.
For learners, attached resources render right inside each cohort: quizzes, coding exercises, and assignments open in a new tab; videos play embedded; and polls show a live-session note. See Quizzes, code & resources for how each type behaves.
How learners experience a program #
Learners open the program and see its cohorts as an accordion. Expanding a cohort reveals its description, downloadable documents, and attached resources — everything for that stage in one place. Because programs are typically instructor-led, they pair naturally with scheduled live sessions and polls.
